Modalities

  1. The Term Industry includes all stakeholders such as industry, Government, Non-Government Organizations.
  2. Confidentiality Clause: In case the Solution being provided by the student is specific to a particular organization, the solution shall not be shared with other stakeholders baring the individuals involved in PhD evaluation process such as Supervisor and internal evaluators.

Process Outline

  • PhD students identify national research priorities and select a research theme aligned with Superior University's objectives and industry needs.
  • At the proposal stage, students present their chosen problem statement and how their research will contribute to solving it within the industry.
  • Faculty Review Board (FRB) assesses the proposal's alignment with industry needs and the feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Throughout the research process, students work on their theses, focusing on addressing the identified industry problem.
  • Innovation and novel solutions are encouraged to enhance industry practices.
  • Upon completion of the thesis, students prepare a concise note highlighting how their research addresses the specific industry problem and provides solutions.
  • The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) facilitates the dissemination of this note to relevant industry stakeholders.
  • ORIC coordinates with the students to craft a succinct, non-technical summary of the research's industry impact.
  • The communication note includes key findings, recommendations, and the practical application of the research in addressing the industry issue.
  • ORIC shares these communication notes with industry stakeholders to showcase the relevance and practical applicability of the research outcomes.
  • This engagement encourages collaboration, fosters relationships, and potentially implements the proposed solutions within the industry.

Implementation and Review

  • FRB tracks and supports students throughout the research process, ensuring alignment with industry needs and Superior University's objectives.
  • Periodic evaluations assess the impact and relevance of the research in addressing the industry problem.
  • Feedback loops from industry stakeholders help refine future research endeavors.
  • ORIC maintains a repository of successful case studies, showcasing how research outcomes have positively impacted industries.
  • Insights gained from this program are used to enhance future iterations and improve industry-academia collaboration.

Conclusion

The "One-PhD-One-Solution" program acts as a bridge between academia and industry, fostering research aligned with practical industry needs. It facilitates knowledge transfer, encourages innovation, and contributes to real-world solutions.
