This entails taking proactive steps to lessen susceptibility to dangers associated with climate change and to take advantage of any possibilities that may present themselves. Technological advancements, behavioural and practice changes, and policy modifications are just a few examples of the many ways that adaptability can manifest itself.

Despite making a very small contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions, Pakistan is extremely vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

Pakistan must make climate change adaptation a top priority by bolstering early warning systems, encouraging sustainable agricultural practices, and investing in resilient infrastructure. Nanocomposite Membranes for Water Purification
Dr. Uqba Mehmood, from Superior University, shared his work on nanocomposite membranes that improve the permeability, selectivity, and durability of membrane materials for water purification. This collaboration with Dr. Aneela from industry focuses on water treatment for both drinking and industrial purposes.

 

Innovating Hair Dye Solutions
Dr. Uqba Mehmood’s partnership with Mohsin from Golden Perl aims to revolutionize hair dye products by eliminating irritation and making them more skin friendly.

 

Research in Agriculture and Environmental Impact
Dr. Rehana Badar's extensive research partnerships, including collaborations with the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) and Government College University (GCU), focus on agricultural challenges. Dr. Usman Elahi, meanwhile, explored the impact of aquaculture practices on fish health, working with experts at UVAS Patoki.

 

Advancing Nanomedicine
Dr. Samiya Abrar's research on nanoparticle synthesis to combat multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria exemplifies the potential of nanotechnology in healthcare, with support from collaborators at Punjab University.

 

Phage Therapy for MDR Bacteria
Dr. Rabia Nawaz presented her work on the use of bacteriophages to control MDR bacteria, collaborating with researchers at UVAS and Ottoman Pharma.

 

These projects demonstrate the immense potential of research collaborations in tackling climate change and advancing sustainability.
