To explore how Islamic philanthropic tools such as Waqf (endowments) and Sadaqah (charitable donations) can be leveraged to support Indigenous climate adaptation projects, and to develop strategies for effectively utilizing these resources to enhance the resilience and sustainability of Indigenous-led initiatives.
The workshop will facilitate increased financial support for Indigenous climate adaptation projects through Islamic philanthropic mechanisms, leading to enhanced environmental resilience in Indigenous communities and adopting greater cross-cultural collaboration and understanding.
Participants will gain insights into the effective use of Waqf and Sadaqah for supporting Indigenous climate projects, resulting in actionable strategies for mobilizing Islamic philanthropic resources, developing stronger partnerships, and increasing the financial sustainability and impact of Indigenous-led climate adaptation efforts.
